Kathalaya for Children and Teens



Stories play a significant role in shaping our thought process. When blended with right emotions and elements, stories help children and adults to remember things for life. They also provide an opportunity for vicarious learning and learning from role models. Stories from the Indian Ithihasa and Purana are a blend of values, scientific perspectives and life principles. Especialy for children, stories help to

  • Kindle interest in the Indian paramapara
  • Enhance self-inquiry and curiosity
  • Act as a compass for harmonious coexistence
  • Enhance memory and cognitive capabilities
  • Give exposure to Indian sciences
  • Better connect to one's tradition and roots

Program Content:

Anaadi's Kathalaya, designed for various age bands(5-8 yrs, 9-12 yrs, 12-16 yrs) is offered online for about 8 hrs or 16 hrs (depending upon the batch offering) and combine insights from:

  • Stories from Ithihasa and Purana
  • Yoga
  • Ayurveda and Holistic Health
  • Indian Astronomy
  • Indian Mathematics
  • Bhajans
  • Chants
  • Mandala Art

Pedagogy

~ Kathalaya sessions are offered by well-qualified and trained teachers from Anaadi Foundation
~ Sessions will be offered via a secure online platform
~ Each session will be a blend of Yoga, Katha, Bhajan, Chant and Insight from Indian Sciences
~ Simple assigments will be given based on materials available at home
~ A mandala art class is included in each batch

Launched on the auspicious August 15, 2020 and designed & offered by expert story tellers and volunteers from Anaadi Foundation, the Kathamala channel is aimed at imparting stories and values from the Indian tradition. If you know/have/teach children in the age group 5-12 years, you could subscribe to this channel and receive a message every day. Content includes:
